Things are moving in the right direction as the RMV has announced that as of September 19th, 2022 all RMV Service Centers with the exception of Chicopee, will be accepting walk-in service for registry-related transactions! Appointments for transactions like registering a vehicle or transferring a registration to a new vehicle will no longer be required by appointment. In fact – the registry will be getting rid of the online appointment scheduling for specific transactions on September 26th, 2022. Appointments that have been previously scheduled will be honored.
At Sterling Insurance Agency in Beverly, we also offer free registry running services to our insureds as well as being able to complete transactions same day electronically through the Electronic Vehicle Registration (EVR) Program. We encourage all of our insureds to contact us before going to the registry to ensure they have all of the proper documents for each transaction!
The MassDOT article add that even though once again we do have the ability to walk-in “the RMV recommends that all customers visit RMV’s Online Service Center to conduct over 40 transactions including: renewing a driver’s license, renewing a registration, paying a citation, requesting a hearing, and accessing a variety of other business transactions.”
