Rick Mooney
President / Principal
Rick Mooney is the President here at Sterling Insurance Agency. Rick has been married to his wife JoAnna since 1988 and they have three terrific children. He is a lifelong resident of Beverly and is an active community leader. He graduated from Salem State in 1985 and has been with Sterling ever since. He was named the President of Sterling Insurance in 2002 after learning the ins and outs of the business. Rick is involved in many organizations, including but not limited to Beverly Rotary, Beverly Main Streets, Greater Beverly Chamber of Commerce, City of Beverly Advisory Board and Chin Friction Band (bass guitar/saxophone). Chin Friction was formed in 1985 and has been present in the community ever since, playing local shows as well as playing at Fenway Park at the 7th Annual ALS charity event.

Connor Mooney
Business Development Manager / Licensed Broker / Commercial Lines Account Manager
Connor Mooney graduated from University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2016. As a Business Development Manager, he has a variety of responsibilities that are instrumental to the success of the business and satisfaction of our clients. He’s a licensed Property and Casualty Producer in both Personal Insurance and Commercial Insurance. Connor is also a licensed Realtor®. Connor lives in Salem, MA with his wife, Kelly. Connor’s favorite hobbies include snowboarding, running, and watching the Patriots.

Anny Suggs, CISR

Anny is a licensed producer in Personal and Commercial Insurance in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She also holds a CISR designation. In 2016 Anny graduated from the University of New Hampshire and lived in the Portsmouth are before returning home to the North Shore. She previously worked in Marketing and Business Development and is excited to bring her knowledge to Sterling.

Tina DiPaolo, CISR

Tina DiPaolo is the Director of Development. She is a personal lines account manager and a licensed broker. She is a lifelong Beverly resident and active community member. Tina, her husband and her son are all die hard Patriots fans. She has been with Sterling Insurance for 19 years and holds a CISR designation. Her attention to detail and commitment to her clients have been key factors in her many years of success here at Sterling Insurance. Gaurav Garg, CISR
Personal Lines Account Manager
Gaurav has worked in insurance since 2014 and has a CISR designation, as well as EVR certification. He holds a degree in economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) with a minor in history. Gaurav is a Chicago native but has lived in Billerica ever since he moved to MA in 2013. He worked at the Hanover corporate office before transitioning over to the agency side in 2018. He is well versed with many carriers in personal lines insurance, especially MA auto. When not at work, he enjoys cooking, volunteering for his camping group NAFCA. Jean Carlos Tavarez, JC for short, is a Lynn resident and a 2013 Lynn English High School graduate. He started working customer service in 2021 as a Claims Specialist for a home warranty company, transitioning into insurance the following year. JC is now holds a Property & Casualty License, knowledgeable in Personal Lines and assistant to our Commercial Lines team. Theresa is originally from Salem but has been Gloucester resident for the past 40 years. Duncan
Mascot
Duncan the dog is our mascot here at Sterling Insurance. He was born in Tennessee 7 years ago, and then he bought a one-way ticket up to the north shore and has been here ever since! He is a mixed breed with some Dalmatian and just a pinch of Lab. Duncan’s hobbies include long walks on the leash, spending time with his family out on the boat, and his favorite, posing for pictures to post on his Instagram. We knew Duncan had a passion for insurance when we discovered that he always kept a back-up bone buried in the backyard, just in case. We are extremely proud to have such a good boy as our mascot.
