In an effort to keep older adults safe during these uncertain times, the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles has announced that they will continue to dedicate service hours for customers 75+ years old whose licenses expire in November and December of 2020.
Massachusetts law requires that drivers age 75 or older must renew their license in person. Designating Wednesdays to seniors renewing their license will help their overall goal of making the RMV a safer space for staff and customers alike.
Senior hours are appointment only and will be available at the following RMV locations:
- Brockton
- Danvers
- Fall River
- Greenfield
- Lawrence
- Leominster
- Martha’s Vineyard
- Nantucket
- New Bedford
- North Adams
- Pittsfield
- Plymouth
- Revere
- South Yarmouth
- Springfield
- Watertown
- Worcester
Below are the options the RMV gives to make a reservation at any of these locations:
- AAA members: you may make a reservation now to renew your driver’s license/ID at a AAA location. Visit com/appointments to schedule your visit.
- If you are not a AAA member, visit Gov/RMV to make a reservation to renew at an RMV Service Center. Select the Seniors License Renewal option on the Make/Cancel a Reservation transaction.
- Email the RMV for assistance to renew at MassDOTRMVSeniors@dot.state.ma.usemail address.
- Call the RMV at 857-368-8005.
License and ID renewal appointments will also be available at other open RMV Service Centers that offer general appointments to the public. To make an appointment select Renew My Driver’s License or Mass ID option on the Make/Cancel a Reservation at www.Mass.Gov/RMV to view availability and make a reservation at one of these locations.
