In June 2014 Rick Mooney was installed as the President of Beverly Rotary. While serving as President, Rick Mooney accomplished a notable amount of community involvement and improvement for the city of Beverly. Some of his highlights as President include the following:
- The Greater Beverly YMCA received a $10,000 gift from the Beverly Rotary Club. This funded programs that encouraged reading/science and exploration for hundreds of Beverly children.
- Beverly Rotary Club matched the grant awarded by North Shore United Way for the Touch to Talk – Northeast Arc program. This initiative helps children on the autism spectrum with communication.
- 5 Outstanding young women were the recipients of $25,000 in awards for College Education from the Beverly Rotary Club.
- Beverly Main Streets accepted a $20,000 check from Beverly Rotary President Rick Mooney. This money is going toward the continued revitalization of Ellis Square. Ellis Square is set to host musical performances, public art, and more.
- The list continues with more local, regional, and global projects.
